TNT to Earth's Core Beginner Guide: Your First Sessions

A first-session route for TNT to Earth's Core!: the official loop, your first TNT unlocks, the first layers, what to record, and the early mistakes that waste TNT.

Quick answer: one loop, four free goals

TNT to Earth's Core! is a descent game: you blast terrain downward with explosives, collect rare ores on the way, unlock stronger TNT, and aim for the Earth's core. The whole loop is in the official description, and the game hands you four free first-session goals through its badge layer: Welcome to TNT! (join the game), Dirt TNT (your first unlock), Reach Layer 1! (basic stone, cleared by 738,536 players before you), and then the ladder continues. Your first sessions have one job — learn what one blast clears, and let the unlocks compound.

Session 1

The first-session route, in order

Five steps that end with your notes more useful than most players'.

  1. 1. Confirm you are in the right game

Open the official experience (place 129972079094718, creator group Exploding fun!) and check the title reads "TNT to Earth's Core!". At least three similarly named games — Dig to Earth's Core, Dig to Earth's CORE!, Drill to Earth's Core — have different mechanics, and most wrong advice online belongs to those.

  2. 2. Blast, and watch one number

Set off your starter explosive and see how much depth it removed. Do it twice more. That number — clearance per blast — is the single most useful thing a beginner can measure, because every plan on this site is built from it. At Layer 1 (basic stone) it will be at its most generous; it will not stay constant.

  3. 3. Collect every ore you pass

Rare ores are a core loop per the official description, but no ore names or values are published anywhere. Early on, the habit matters more than the haul: grab what you pass without detouring, and note roughly where (layer, depth) finds cluster. The ores reference shows the logging method.

  4. 4. Spend your first unlock on the ladder

Open the unlock screen and take the first TNT it offers — Dirt TNT is rung one of an official 27-rung ladder (Ice, Mushroom, and Fling TNT come next by player counts). Requirements are not published, so the screen is the reference. After unlocking, re-measure step 2: a new TNT is only an upgrade if your own blasts say so.

  5. 5. Plan the next run before you stop

Write down current depth, target depth (the next layer is a good target), clearance, stock, and reserve. Plug them into the core-run calculator and you have next session's blast budget before you log off.

Avoid

Beginner mistakes that waste TNT

Detouring for rumored ores

Ore location tables online belong to similarly named games. Detours cost blasts; passing finds cost nothing.

Spending down to zero

A stock of zero at a layer boundary strands the run. Keep a reserve — even one or two blasts.

Trusting shared rebirth or stat numbers

No stat table or rebirth multiplier is published. Screenshots from other games do not apply here.

If stuck

First-session roadblocks

"My blast cleared almost nothing"

You likely crossed a layer boundary — clearance drops as rock hardens (Layer 4 is literally named tuff). Re-measure at the new layer.

"The unlock screen wants something I can't find"

Requirements are not documented publicly. If the screen names an item, it comes from the loop itself — usually depth or ores. Keep descending.

"Progress feels slow past Layer 3"

That matches the official counters: 95,917 players reached Layer 3 (andesite) but 57,260 Layer 4. The andesite-to-tuff wall is where the game filters casual runs — unlock a stronger TNT before pushing through.

FAQ

Beginner questions

What should beginners do first in TNT to Earth's Core?

Play the loop once end to end: blast terrain with your starter explosive, grab the ores you pass, and open the unlock screen to see what your first upgrade is. The game's own badge layer gives you free goals — Welcome to TNT! for joining, Dirt TNT for your first unlock, Reach Layer 1! for your first milestone.

How do I get Dirt TNT?

It is the first rung of the unlock ladder — the official badge calls it "your very first TNT" and says it "throws around a lot of dirt". 536,465 players held it at the October 3, 2026 check, so essentially everyone who plays reaches it; the in-game unlock screen shows the current requirement.

Should beginners rebirth?

Not in your first sessions. The game only started advertising rebirths ([Rebirths!] in the live title) in early October 2026, and no rebirth cost or multiplier is documented. Read the in-game rebirth screen once you reach it, and reset only when the screen shows a permanent gain worth more than the depth you would give up.

Are there codes for free starter rewards?

No working code has ever been verified for this game — a tracker's six reported strings were retracted by the tracker itself in September 2026. Starter progress comes from the loop, not from rewards that do not exist; the codes page keeps the current status.
